KConnect Rethinks Housing Insecurity in Kent County

Grant Recipient

KConnect

Awarded Amount

$10,000

In January of 2020, KConnect received a $10,000 grant from the Steelcase Foundation to continue its work facilitating change in the Housing Sector. Since May 2018 KConnect has facilitated collaboration among area homelessness and housing providers with the goal of redesigning the system to bring the voices of those experiencing housing insecurity to the forefront, and to remedy the current overrepresentation of families of color experiencing homelessness in our community.

The Housing Security Design Team will use the next six months to continue its work creating a thoughtful community plan and roadmap for moving forward. We’re grateful to KConnect and local housing system providers for their willingness to take on this work to bring dignity and equity into local housing practices.
