In April of 2022, the Steelcase Foundation awarded STEM Greenhouse a five-year $500,000 grant to support STEM Scholars 2.0, “a wraparound STEM program embedded at Innovation Central High School designed to develop a climate of inclusion in STEM and a culture of high academic standards and college expectations for all students. Participating STEM Scholars are supported through:
• Accelerated learning opportunities;
• After-school tutoring;
• College visits;
• Special programs;
• Field trips;
• Leadership training;
• Summer learning experiences; and
• Summer job opportunities.
In addition, families are encouraged to participate in semi-annual programming centered on navigating STEM college-career pathways.
Teachers in the STEM Teacher Development team receive direct support from a STEM Greenhouse math or science curriculum specialists, as well as professional learning centered on delivering high-quality STEM instruction and culturally-response advanced math courses.
