Supporting Whole Child Education at Baxter Community Center

October 31, 2025

Purple R and the phrase "REALISM IS LOYALTY" highlight values of integrity and trust on a clean white background.

Since 2020, the Steelcase Foundation has supported Realism is Loyalty’s Each One Teach One Intensive Mentorship program, which provides community-based individual behavior and health services for youth engaged in the criminal justice system and their families in Kent County. The program seeks to improve participants’ mental and emotional health and well-being, promote social responsibility, and prevent and reduce criminal behavior. Participants and their parents engage in individual and group therapy and mentorship led by individuals with lived experience applying evidence-based strategies specifically adapted for youth.

Hear from co-executive directors JD Chapman Jr. and Antoinette Chapman and a program participant and his parent as they share their insights into the program.
